story is short and sweet: After over a decade in Washington, DC it was time for a change in scenery for this artist and her hubby. So we crossed the Potomac River to Virginia, and after driving through acres of rolling pastures and miles of rock walls, we were smitten. Why not move to the country? We were ready for a change and the beauty of the countryside and too many Jane Austen novels soon led us to the sleepy village of Upperville. So we packed up our things and moved.

What does that have to do with stationery, you might ask? Well nothing really, except that in Jane Austen's world people wrote to each other all the time. Letter writing was both necessary to communicate and an art form. I would simply hate to see the art of letter writing lost in our fast paced world. I think we need to keep a little hand written tradition in our repertoire. Inspired by this notion and new surroundings, my art took a new direction and I started a boutique stationery company: The Beehive Press.

That said, not everyone is a prolific letter writer, but just about everyone loves to send cards! Cards for birthdays, babies and friends, Cards for sweethearts and anniversaries - the list never ends! With that in mind, we've made a little honey "Beehive style"- sticky sweet stationery for all occasions. Just enough to write a short little message to a friend or loved one. Take a peek inside the hive.
